About

ericHello! I’m Eric, the writer and doer behind Hickory + Hearth. As someone who’d always rather hire someone else, my transformation into a handy DIY’er began in 2015 after the purchase of my first house. Stay awhile and discover the projects, inspirations, tools and products that have occupied my time ever since.

The name Hickory + Hearth was born out of the idea that this blog would cover everything from the exterior to the interior of my home. Hickory, a popular framing wood, happens to be the wood that supports the walls of my home. A hearth on the other hand represents the soul of the home. The purpose of this blog is to educate and entertain as I complete home improvement and design projects, turning my late 1980’s home into a modern, ideal space.

Hickory + Hearth is a way not only for you to watch and learn, but to express your own thoughts on my work as well. Comments are open for all so feel free to chime in as I’ll be excited to read your feedback. If you need to contact me for any reason, please see my contact page here.
